SLES is available to NDIS participants from the end of year 11, and for up to two years. An NDIS participant could have SLES available in their plan right up to the age of 22. This means our Cairns consultants can not only set a person up for job success, but also see them through for a meaningful start to a career.

Wheelchairs cannot be carried on our bus transfer service. However, at the time of booking, please advise us if you require this service and we will make alternative arrangements.

Skyrail can accommodate most standard wheelchairs. However, due to size restrictions and loading requirements, personal wheelchairs are required to have the following: Width – cannot exceed 630mm. Length – cannot exceed 950mm.
Wheelchairs must be capable of being tilted backwards (raising the front wheels) to enable loading onto gond
ola. Combined weight of the wheelchair and occupant must be manageable to allow for operator-assisted loading.
 
Must have handles to ensure easy lifting into the gondolas.
Complimentary wheelchairs - Skyrail can provide complimentary use of a wheelchair, subject to availability.
 
Certified support dogs and assistance animals are permitted to travel on Skyrail, subject to conditions.

Hi, I'm Jerry, an Independent Support Worker with experience across mental health covering psychosocial, and neuro divergent disabilities. I can also assist participants who have listed physical disabilities, brain, or spinal injuries.

Over 35 years of lived experience, and 3 years as a disability support worker and some, aged care experience that predominantly covers dementia.

Knowledge of the NDIS systems and processes were  gained while previously employed as a support coordinator. This often helps my clients by providing them with additional information or access to funds , supports or assistive technology that they have not been told about.

My main service area is Cairns, Northern Beaches and Port Douglas, but I will service as far down as Innisfail.

New Day All Abilities Support Service is a multi-faceted business model to see strong foundational relationships created, to support consistency and inclusion for my clients, as I work collaboratively with their Occupational Therapist and Educational Service.

With over 25 years working in the Early Childhood and Education sector, and holding a Diploma of Early Childhood and Education, I have expanded my knowledge and qualifications.

SAILing for people with disABILITY

The Sailbility program provides, free of charge, opportunities for people with a disability to discover the joy and the challenge of sailing, to have a bit of competitive fun and to continually learn a range of skills that can be taught to others in a truly inclusive environment.

Volunteers also learn a range of skills to support the program and have the opportunity to assist, work and socialise with some truly inspiring people, while enjoying the beautiful facilities and environment of the Squad.

Welcome to our paediatric dietitian services, dedicated to supporting the nutritional needs and well-being of children. Our team of qualified dietitians specializes in working with children and is committed to providing personalized guidance and support tailored to their unique dietary requirements. During your initial appointment, we will spend approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour engaging in a comprehensive conversation to understand your child’s specific nutritional needs and challenges.

In this session, our paediatric dietitian will conduct a detailed assessment of your child’s dietary habits, preferences, and any specific dietary restrictions or concerns they may have. We will also discuss their growth and development goals, whether it’s managing a medical condition, promoting healthy weight gain or loss, or optimizing overall nutrition for optimal well-being. Our goal is to gain
a thorough understanding of your child’s current dietary patterns and any factors that may impact their nutritional status.

Based on this assessment, our paediatric dietitian will work closely with you and your child to develop a personalized nutrition plan that meets their specific needs and is suitable for their age and developmental stage. All-Abilities Teen Camps
Our sleepover weekend camps bring together young people of different abilities. We focus on fun and making friends through active and playful activities outdoors.  Our approach is to encourage teens to find common bonds while we also celebrate the qualities that make us all unique.  We feel it is important to get young people off their devices and out into the natural world, where they can learn to have fun without screens. For young people looking to make connections to people and nature, this is the place!

Facilitated by an activities leader, support workers and a team nurse, our camps are well-suited for young people who may need extra support and attention, but are ready for the challenge of a multi-day adventure. As an added bonus, while the teens are having fun parents get a respite from their caring responsibilities.

We are an independent Commission but our functions are defined by legislation.

The head office is in Brisbane, and regional offices located in Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton.

We deliver frontline services to the Queensland community, including businesses, state and local government, the community sector and people throughout the state.

resolving complaints received under the Act;
delivering training to business, government and the community; and
promoting public discussion on human rights.

Making a complaint against an NDIS provider about your human rights

Complaints about human rights can be made for acts or decisions which occur after 1 January 2020.

A registered NDIS provider must act and make decisions in a way that is compatible with your human rights, including giving proper consideration to a relevant human right. There are 23 human rights protected in Queensland, including rights such as:

The right to protection from torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment
The right to take part in public life
The right to privacy
Right to protection of families and children
Cultural rights
The right to liberty and security of person
The right to education
The right to health services

A human rights complaint can be combined with other legal action you are taking or a separate complaint can be made to the Queensland Human Rights Commission.

We recognize the vital role that family and carers play in the therapeutic process and are committed to involving them in every step of the journey. This philosophy is strengthened by Jana-Jade’s specialty research, knowledge and passion in Family Wellbeing within the Scope of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in regional and rural regions. Jana-Jade is currently finalizing her PhD and will soon be publishing her groundbreaking research, “Family Wellbeing: Engaging in the National Disability Insurance Scheme in Rural Regions,” focusing on intersectionality, bureaucracy, family inclusion, and personally directed family-centered wellbeing initiatives. Jana-Jade and the Foundation of Hope Therapies aim to redevelop how disability and caregiving are viewed by Australian social culture and society.

💠 Jana-Jade Loadsman is also a fully qualified ADOS Trained Assessor, capable of completing Autism Assessments across all ages. Additionally, she is a Certified Keyworker, Advanced Behavioural Analysis Support Provider, Advocate, Complex Caregiver, Loving and Dedicated Mum, Wife and Friend. This comprehensive skill set ensures that our clients and family's alike receive the highest quality assessments and interventional therapies that is not only scientifically tailored to their specific needs. But is also engrained in extensive lived experience.

💠 Jana-Jade, along with her husband Shane, run the Foundation of Hope Therapies as a family-owned practice. Together, they bring a unique, personal perspective to their work as parents to five children, three of whom have multiple complex disabilities. This lived experience enriches their understanding and commitment to providing empathetic and effective care, ensuring that every client receives the personalized support they need. Their eldest son Kynan, also completing his Bachelor of Physiotherapy extends the range of supports provided in his Allied Health Assistant role, as he completes his Degree.
