Kuranda Rainforest - Rainforestation Nature Park

All Abilities Rainforest Rendezvous
Join us on a unique all abilities experience in our recent reimagined Rainforest Habitat. Meet the wildlife that calls it home. Our keepers will enlist you to hand feed the endangered Southern Cassowary, and explain why these animals are so vital to our world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and why we need to care. Have a flight of fancy while we call down some colourful Eclectus parrots, larrikin lorikeets, and listen for the elusive whip bird. Get a chance to sneak a super cool selfie with our rainforest birds. Feed some fish, and by fish, we mean the Far North’s most iconic Barramundi. Discover how these elusive opportunistic predators keep their cycle of life happening by undergoing a sex change in saltwater! If you love Australian nature and wildlife, this tour is for you.

The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is accessible to mobility devices but some of the pathways are slightly sloped and in other areas slightly uneven and assistance may be required. Some persons using a mobility device may need a carer or someone to assist with entry through the large plastic curtains that contain the butterflies inside the main aviary. Should you be unsure if the paths are suitable, the staff are more than happy to show your carer or family member around first if required. Please note that Accessible Toilets are located in the Public Facilities in the Park across the road from the Butterfly Sanctuary.
