What is Rideshare? It’s a legal term which requires us to have bookings and we are unable to pick up hails, like a taxi.  You don’t have to SHARE unless YOU want to.

We have a large fleet of 20 sedans for ensuring easy access, additionally we have 4 Wheelchair Accessible vehicles also. (preferably prebook to ensure timely arrivals)

Prebooked door to door transport to ensure that you arrive on time for appointments, school, work or just call for an impromptu trip out.

Taking special care with the elderly and those with restricted mobility. our team assists clients in getting safely inside appointments and day programs. While not carers, we genuinely care and offer extra support.

We have hourly rates are available, if you are on holidays or wanting to travel around our beautiful region.  All costs are per vehicle (sedan – max 4 passengers & Bus/Maxi 10 people ) our accessible vehicles also take 2 wheelchairs and you can share the cost and allocate to individual accounts.  We request Service Agreements, and monitor them to ensure you don’t go over budget.

We are a local family run business with dedicated and caring drivers Clients can request specific drivers, fostering comfort and familiarity. Being local, you’re flexible and easily reachable.

If client doesn’t answer for a prebooking, we check that they are at home and then will contact supports to confirm the booking before leaving the address.  No Cancellation Fee if cancelled 30 mins prior to pick up time.

All trips are metered and can be a fixed price so no nasty surprises with cost.  We can also prebook up to 12 months in advance, adjustments to days and times are welcome.

We cater for the elderly on home care packages through their package partners and are also able to accept Cash, Card, Cabcharge in the vehicle.

I’m Trish Degnian, the franchise owner and friendly face behind Driving Miss Daisy Tablelands. Launched in February 2023 to service the Tablelands region including trips to Cairns with drivers based in Atherton and Mareeba. Driving Miss Daisy provides a safe, friendly and reliable companion transport/support worker service. Our very recognisable blue daisy cars afford easy passenger access, storage for wheelchairs, walking frames and shopping items and provide a safe, comfortable ride.

🌼 Driving Miss Daisy Tablelands provides more than transportation. Our drivers have been vetted by Australian Police Checks. We hold current First Aid Certificates, have completed Introduction to Dementia training and have several years’ experience working in Education and Community Services. We also hold Blue and Yellow Cards and Small Passenger Vehicle Licences.

🌼 How Does Driving Miss Daisy Work?
We call ourselves companion drivers/support workers. We will meet someone at their door and assist them where needed. Once at the destination, we can provide help and support with appointments, errands, and shopping if this is required. We can attend an appointment or wait and be there for them when the appointment finishes. We can also provide follow up notes regarding appointments if requested.

Our service takes special care of the elderly and those living with dementia, disabilities, or restricted mobility. As well as providing transport to appointments/errands, we can take people on social engagements/outings or scenic drives. If two or three friends would like to go on a special outing together, this can also be arranged.

🌼 How much does Driving Miss Daisy Cost?
We are considered to be affordable and extremely cost effective. All jobs are pre-quoted and based on time, distance travelled and the special needs of the passenger.

I’m a Northern Pride rugby league player with over 3 years of 1:1 support work experience, working closely with individuals to provide person-centred, reliable, and respectful support. I bring a strong background in community engagement and mentoring, and I enjoy helping participants stay active, connected, and confident in everyday life.
 
Outside of work, I enjoy training, staying active, being outdoors, and connecting with people through sport and shared interests. My sporting background has shaped my values of discipline, resilience, teamwork, and consistency, which I bring into my support work every day.
 
I’m best suited to supporting young adults and participants who enjoy staying active, building routines, and working toward personal goals. My approach is calm, strengths-based, and supportive, with a strong focus on trust, consistency, and genuine rapport. I pride myself on being reliable and professional, with clear communication and strong boundaries.
 
I offer flexible availability and hold a current driver’s licence, allowing me to support participants with community access, transport, and social outings.
