NDIS Cairns Providers and Participants

A group to help the NDIS community thrive in Cairns where providers can advertise their services and participants have the choice and control. This group has been established to share support and to share knowledge and guidance between all professionals in our community.

FNQ Rural & Remote NDIS Networking
For those living North of Cairns. – A group for both Providers and Participants

To maintain the integrity and focus of the group, membership is strictly limited to:

Registered or non-registered disability service providers with an ongoing, permanent presence in the community.

Providers must offer services year-round (not seasonal, telehealth only, temporary, or pop-up).

Must have a registered local Cairns or FNQ business address or operational base within the community/region.

Providers must be actively delivering services under the NDIS or similar frameworks, or through private practice in disability-related fields.

Tourette’s Support Group Cairns
This support group has been set up to bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences and provides an opportunity for people to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about Tourette’s syndrome.

Cairns Region Down Syndrome Group
For Down Syndrome parents in Cairns Region for support and upcoming events.

FNQ Cerebral Palsy Support Group
We are a charitable organisation started by a small group of passionate parents of children with cerebral palsy in hopes of improving the services and opportunities available to families affected by cerebral palsy and living in Cairns and Far North Queensland. The Group has also reached out to families with children that have physical disabilities other than cerebral palsy. Website

The Mareeba Autism Support Group
The aim of the group is to provide support, understanding, a shoulder to lean on and information and resources.

Tableland Autism Support Group
Tablelands ASD Parent Support Group is a support group with the aim to provide peer support opportunities for parents and carers of children on the spectrum (with or without a diagnosis) across the Tablelands community.

FNQ Accessible Housing Dreams & SDA
A caring, sharing space to help each other achieve the dreams for those with a disability to have a home in Cairns, or surrounds, suitable for their specific needs, to live their lives as independently as their disability allows them.

Cairns Fluency Support Group
For Adults Who Stutter.
Find support in a positive and encouraging environment. Meetings second and fourth Thursday of each month. No membership fee.

Rare Friends Far North Queensland
Rare Friends is a community of supporters for Far North Queenslanders affected by rare conditions. They also have an annual fun run/walk day on the esplanade.

Innisfail Special Needs Parents and Carers Support and Resources
This group has been set up to provide local support, encouragement, ideas, resources and networking for parents and carers of kids with additional needs in the Innisfail area.

Weipa CapeAbility, Local Area Social and Support Group
We are a family support group for parents and friends with or without a family member with a disability. The aim is to provide emotional support and to educate people about disabilities so we all can live and work in our community to the best of our ability.

Weipa CapeAbility provides empathy, friendships and being understanding of people in a positive and safe environment. Weipa CapeAbility is a non-profit organization run by a group of volunteer parents who meet to have FUN.
