This group has been set up to provide local support, encouragement, ideas, resources and networking for parents and carers of kids with additional needs in the Innisfail area.
Tablelands ASD Parent Support Group is a support group with the aim to provide peer support opportunities for parents and carers of children on the spectrum (with or without a diagnosis) across the Tablelands community.
We aim to achieve this goal with the guidance and consultation of parents/carers and the extended autism community.
We will be scheduling activities for the group alternating between Professional Development/Education sessions and Meet and Greet Support sessions.
Each month we will have one session in Mareeba and another in Atherton to allow parents/carers to have options in times that suit them.

A group for Providers, Participants and their support network to share information, advice, events and recommendations related to the NDIS.
If you suffer from any kind of disease, an invisible illness, depression, PTSD and Chronic Pain, this is a group where anyone in the Cairns area can feel safe to post about what they are going through, physically as well as emotionally and have the support from people going through the same thing. To know that you are not alone and there are people who understand exactly how you feel and are in our own little town rather than across the world. It's a safe place to vent when you're having a bad day, week or year!
It's also a place to post inspirational quotes or exercise suggestions, medical care, medications and diets that have work for others.
A neuroaffirming space. Be part of changing the narrative around autism, ADHD and other neurospicy states of being human. Try to view things through a social lens as well as a medical one. Celebrate neurodivergent culture.

See what providers have capacity, new providers to Cairns, call out for support workers, OT's, Speechie's, or ask about recommendations on just about anything.
Share any workshops / seminars / conferences in the group as well as your services, employment opportunities etc. The group is pretty much an open forum.
Community Ability Network is a community of mutual support including private support providers, NDIS participants, carers and other professionals.
When support is provided by others who have similar experiences an atmosphere of respect and mutual helping develops.
Our monthly support group brings together people in the Cairns area, who care for, or about, someone diagnosed with a mental illness.

Cairns Warmline is a Non-For-Profit Community organization, providing a committed After Hours Service dedicated to helping the people of cairns and the surrounding districts struggling with mental illness, psychological or emotional distress.
National Disability Insurance Scheme Partner In The Community for Cairns NDIS Region (comprising Local Government Areas of Cairns, Douglas, Cassowary Coast, Yarrabah, Mareeba and Tablelands) delivering NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention and Local Area Coordination Programs.
Provides support:
develop NDIS Support Plans;
Provide support to understand/use funding and connect to NDIS and non-NDIS (mainstream / community / informal) services, supports, facilities and resources;
Conduct Scheduled Reviews at expiration of current NDIS support plan to enable development of a new NDIS Support Plan;
Conduct Lived Experience Group;
Develop/maintain Service Mapping Resources;
Work to improve access and inclusion for people with disability, their families/carers across Cairns NDIS Region.
