Located on the iconic and accessible Cairns Esplanade, the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of people with spinal cord damage and other physical disabilities. We are Cairns’ first and only fully accessible short term and Holiday Accommodation provider.
Everything about the Centre has been built to be fully accessible for wheelchair and mobility device users, from the accommodation to the Active Gym, hydrotherapy pool, Café, and Community Rooms.
Spinal Life Australia was established to make real and tangible differences in the lives of people living with a physical disability. Whether that’s through critical personal support services, allied health, advocacy at an individual and national level, or support via our Peer Support team. We are a group of down-to-earth humans, delivering a sophisticated range of therapies, experiences and care in an active, learning environment. Our team of support workers are trained to deliver a high level of integrative care, including therapy programs, complimentary medicine, supported outings and overnight care to a young person with high physical needs resulting from a catastrophic brain injury.
Our small, team provides 24 x 7 in-home support that enables a young adult to live in their own home,  with people they love, in their own community. (We do not support congregate care for young people with disabilities.)

Nurse Next Door Cairns is an NDIS registered provider specialising in high-intensity and complex disability supports delivered under strict nursing oversight and clinical governance.
All supports are delivered within a robust clinical framework, with registered nurse oversight embedded into day-to-day service delivery. This includes clinical risk management, competency-based training, ongoing supervision, and adherence to relevant NDIS Practice Standards for high-intensity supports.
We support participants with complex health needs, including seizure management, tracheostomy care, diabetes management, dysphagia support, enteral feeding, and medication management. In addition to clinical supports, we provide companionship, domestic assistance, and community access to support everyday life. We also deliver shared living supports within Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) settings, ensuring continuity of care and strong nursing oversight in supported living environments.
