Australia-wide, services provided online
Business Description

Social Support Online offers Australia-wide, online social support, using co-operation based games and activities to build meaningful relationships and accomplish NDIS developmental goals. With an experienced support worker, participants will enjoy games that prioritise teamwork, effective communication, problem solving and social development, working towards group sessions with matched participants in the SSO community.

The service is for anyone across Australia aged 6+ (including adults), and is particularly suited to people living in regional and remote areas who have limited access to social opportunities and services.

“My son (ADHD + Autism) has been supported by Hamish for the past 2 years and we couldn’t be happier. I have seen a positive change in his approach to others and situations that use to result in a meltdown or a physical response. The service provided by SSO is relevant and effective for my son as it is based online, and uses gaming as a tool to teach and develop social skills, communication, appropriate behaviour and anger management through group sessions and also one on one sessions.”

Some of the common NDIS goals or developmental needs our service helps with:
Developing communication skills
Maintaining positive relationships
Emotional regulation
Engaging in a community
Improving age appropriate social skills
De-escalation and anger management

I am a qualified cook and have been teaching the children of Cairns to cook for 9 years. I am also a mother of two daughters who were both very fussy eaters when they were younger. This was my main motivation to teaching kids how to cook. I figured they would be more inclined to try new foods if they had made it. This has been successful with not only my children but many other kids who have come to me with the idea that they are 'picky eaters'. Our classes are fun, interactive and educational. The kids take home everything they make, along with all of the recipes to recreate the dishes at home.

AUTISM: Minecraft Teamwork Academy (Ages 7-15) - Using Zoom so the location is anywhere.

We've been running this with 25 children for a couple of months and children are getting amazing new skills from interacting with others. This program highly recommended by speech therapists, OTs and psychologists.

The Minecraft Teamwork Academy is on Saturday mornings or Wednesday afternoons.
Your child can book in for a weekly timeslot (60 minute sessions).

Here is where you can see exactly how it helps children with Autism: https://www.amazingskills.com.au/minecraft

How it works:
• In each group we will have about 6 students working together.
• Each week we will have a different project that we work on together as a team (e.g. create a beach scene or a playground or a factory etc)
• Students will need to negotiate with each other. The golden rule of Minecraft Skills Academy is “It is more important to work as a team than to make good builds.”

Session Time: One hour sessions
Pricing: $57.10 for the session.

NDIS Funding: Parents generally claim as
• Increased Social & Community Participation
• Improved Daily Living

Times on Saturdays:
Choose a One-Hour Session within these times:
9am-1pm Syd/Melb/Hob time - That’s Australian Eastern Daylight Savings time.
(That’s 8am-12pm in Brisbane, or 8.30am-12.30pm in Adelaide. In Perth, That is 6am-10am)

Times on Wednesdays:

Zoom Location: Your lounge room, using zoom.
You don’t need to travel anywhere. It's easy to use Zoom from your lounge room.

Keep doing sessions as long as you like. 😊

A Proxy Queue System is available for guests who are unable to wait in the queue, for a number of different reasons. This means that a guest does not have to physically wait in the queue rails in order to ride. If the approximate wait time is 30 minutes, the entry host will give the guest a card stating to come back in 30 minutes and they will go straight onto the ride. If a ride does not have an entry host, please visit Guest Services and they will facilitate a time to present to the attraction.

You do not need a medical certificate to utilise the Proxy system. This system is available for use by anyone if they wish however we do ask that guests only use the Proxy System for one ride at a time to ensure fairness to all our valued guests.

There are a number of quiet areas around the park that don’t see as many people. These are the Western Town area near Wild West Falls, the Arkham courtyard near Arkham Asylum ride exit and Taz Rest Stop – This is a designated rest area that provides garden seating, bean bags, microwaves, bottle warmers, books and toys for all guests to enjoy.

Providing multi-day educational adventures in Far North Queensland (and in Sydney), We connect student groups to community, culture and nature with extraordinary tours.

All-Abilities Teen Camps
Our sleepover weekend camps bring together young people of different abilities. We focus on fun and making friends through active and playful activities outdoors.  Our approach is to encourage teens to find common bonds while we also celebrate the qualities that make us all unique.  We feel it is important to get young people off their devices and out into the natural world, where they can learn to have fun without screens. For young people looking to make connections to people and nature, this is the place!

Facilitated by an activities leader, support workers and a team nurse, our camps are well-suited for young people who may need extra support and attention, but are ready for the challenge of a multi-day adventure. As an added bonus, while the teens are having fun parents get a respite from their caring responsibilities.

You will find that your child returns home with new friends, and with a sense of independence and confidence after having stretched their comfort levels.
