Our mission is to support the independence, autonomy and quality of life for clients in the community who have a disability.
We also focus on more rural areas (aka the Tablelands and outer regions) where participants living in rural areas may find it difficult to locate services, particularly services that are local and not impacted by road conditions/long travel.
Our main goal is to help you achieve what you want in your life!
We provide support in the home, nursing care, community access and various other supports!
We are based in Atherton, and provide services from Mareeba through to Herberton, Ravenshoe, Millstream, to Malanda and Yungaburra, with potential to provide services in a wider area than this on the Tablelands. We are currently only in person.
My email is allbility.makala@gmail.com, phone number listed below or contact me through the facebook page of Allbility.
Currently we are pending to be a registered provider and are working through the logistics of this, but are compliant with NDIS standards as an unregistered provider.

I am a qualified cook and have been teaching the children of Cairns to cook for 9 years. I am also a mother of two daughters who were both very fussy eaters when they were younger. This was my main motivation to teaching kids how to cook. I figured they would be more inclined to try new foods if they had made it. This has been successful with not only my children but many other kids who have come to me with the idea that they are 'picky eaters'.
Our classes are fun, interactive and educational. The kids take home everything they make, along with all of the recipes to recreate the dishes at home.
The teams at The Tour Specialists and Cairns Holiday Specialists recognise this and have put together some travel information specifically for tours and accommodation to assist those guests that may have major or minor disabilities looking to holiday in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland.

My name is Julie Kirkman, and I am an independent support worker with a deep passion for enriching the lives of others. I’m 49 years old, a mother of two grown children, and soon to become a grandparent.
I bring 10 years of experience as a primary school teacher, having worked in various locations across NSW, QLD, and the Torres Strait. This diverse background has helped me build a rich understanding of the varied needs of individuals, allowing me to connect with clients from all walks of life. I live an active, outdoor-oriented lifestyle, enjoying fishing, camping, diving, cooking, and art, and I believe that the energy and joy I find in these activities can help enhance the well-being of others.
As a support worker, I am outgoing, personable, and deeply committed to helping my clients discover joy in everyday life. I strive to foster personal growth, well-being, and social development by tailoring each session to the unique needs of the individual.
I believe that a strong connection with nature and the local environment plays a vital role in personal growth, which is why I design each session to cater to the unique needs of the individual. Activities can be tailored to suit physical, emotional, and mental well-being, such as:
Creative activities for mental health and well-being, including painting, rock painting, drawing, beading, and photography.
Practices for a healthy body and mind, like yoga, meditation, breathing exercises, hiking, river swims, waterfall walks, and fishing.
Activities for building self-esteem, confidence, and independence, such as swimming, gym exercises, cooking healthy meals, and budgeting skills.
Fostering resilience, gratitude, and mindfulness through social emotional learning.
Whether it’s a session focused on personal growth, developing new skills, or simply connecting with the natural world. I am committed to creating a space where my clients can find joy, foster creativity and motivation and grow to be all they dream of.
I would love the opportunity to discuss how I can support your clients' needs and develop a personalised plan that helps achieve a balanced, fulfilling life.
Please feel free to reach out at 0431318683 or julieEmpoweringconnectionsfnq@gmail.com to arrange a time to discuss sessions with me further.

This means that a guest does not have to physically wait in the queue rails in order to ride. If the approximate wait time is 30 minutes, the entry host will give the guest a card stating to come back in 30 minutes and they will go straight onto the ride. All-Abilities Teen Camps
Our sleepover weekend camps bring together young people of different abilities. We focus on fun and making friends through active and playful activities outdoors. Our approach is to encourage teens to find common bonds while we also celebrate the qualities that make us all unique. We feel it is important to get young people off their devices and out into the natural world, where they can learn to have fun without screens. For young people looking to make connections to people and nature, this is the place!
Facilitated by an activities leader, support workers and a team nurse, our camps are well-suited for young people who may need extra support and attention, but are ready for the challenge of a multi-day adventure. As an added bonus, while the teens are having fun parents get a respite from their caring responsibilities.
You will find that your child returns home with new friends, and with a sense of independence and confidence after having stretched their comfort levels.

The service provided by SSO is relevant and effective for my son as it is based online, and uses gaming as a tool to teach and develop social skills, communication, appropriate behaviour and anger management through group sessions and also one on one sessions.”

We recommend our Outer Reef cruise and our Quicksilver VIII vessel as the most suitable for wheelchair passengers. At the Outer Barrier Reef (Agincourt Reef) there are ramp facilities from our vessel to our platform, and a wheelchair access toilet on the vessel.
However access to the underwater observatory, snorkel platforms and our semi-submersible vessels is by stairs only. For guests confined to a wheelchair, our specially designed water powered lift allows for easy access into the snorkel pool. This is available only at our Agincourt 3 platform. We recommend guests call us to discuss arrangements prior to travel.
