The Soul Shack – FNQ Occupational Therapy is a registered NDIS provider on the outskirts of Cairns that provides activity-based short-term accommodation / respite care for people with disability.
We run supported five-day group stays once a fortnight. Our stays are open to people of all ages, with support provided at a minimum 1:2 support ratio.
The Soul Shack is a two-acre farm-stay property in Deeral, with a huge tropical atrium (perfect for rainy days), a fruit tree orchard, and a host of beautiful, friendly animals (including miniature horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, guinea pigs, cockatiels, cats, and dogs).
We can accommodate up to 24 guests in comfortable, air-conditioned, dorm-style rooms.
Each stay is packed with activities that have been intentionally selected or developed by an Occupational Therapist to work towards improving guests’ functional capacity and independence. The team at The Soul Shack is varied and diverse, and includes an Occupational Therapist, Allied Health Assistants, support workers, students, carers, and people with disability.
We provide an all-in-one immersive group stay situation where people with disability can improve their functional capacity and independence, develop their social skills, make new friends, and take part in all kinds of fun and challenging activities—all in a safe and supportive environment.

We have always been driven by our purpose of empowering our community to live a life they love. Now we have a name that reflects that purpose. Whilst we do have a new name, we are all still the same people, with the same values, with no change in ownership. Locally owned and passionate about providing exceptional healthcare to people in our region.
The excitement continues… Thriving Lives Co has now opened our new clinic in Cairns. Located at 208 Buchan Street, Bungalow (corner of Quigley Street). Our Practitioners are providing appointments Monday to Friday across all disciplines.

Exercise Physiologists:
Our team of EP's, Lauren Senini; Brianna Haydon; Rachael Lear; Paul Simmonds; Kathryn Cann; Shona Edwards; and Damien Torrisi have no waitlist and immediate capacity throughout the Cairns, Atherton, Cassowary Coast regions. David is at full capacity. We are accepting expressions of interest to increase our service delivery for people in Julatten, Port Douglas and Mossman.
Physiotherapists:
Our team of two, Jordan Bonner and Kadell Pearce have capacity for in clinic, hydrotherapy and home visits in the Cairns and Yarrabah region and are accepting expressions of interest for the Port Douglas and Mossman region.
Allied Health Assistants:
Our team of two, Glen Hayward and Evie Cox, have no waitlist and immediate capacity for home, gym, pool or clinic visits in the Cairns region.

Delwyn Sheehan - Delwyn is a very experienced occupational therapist who has been providing services in these communities for more than 20 years. Her skills are very broad and have been developed to meet the needs of the local families.
Hand therapy, Soft Tissue Therapy, Lymphoedema management, chronic pain management, psycho-social strategies for anxiety and behaviour management including Sensory Integration Therapy, rehabilitation, home modification are some of the services available through this practice.
